The trip to Shanwei Red Bay

In this breezy summer, the much anticipated 2 days and 1 night self-driving tour to Shanwei City Red Bay is coming…

Red bay is a bay in southern Guangdong, China and in the south of Shanwei City. There are crossing lakes, islands and bays and winding beaches in Red Bay. There are reef rocks of various shapes along the coastline that is 57 km long. People can view the beautiful coastal scenery and enjoy the unique subtropical seaside wind.

On June 4, 2016, it was sunny in the morning. As planned, we came to the specified gathering place early and started off. On the way, we talked and laughed and time passed quickly. After about 4 hours since the bus leaving Shenzhen, we arrived at Shanwei City safely. We went to the place that we would stay first to check in and have a little rest.

At 12:30 p.m., the lunch time, we went to the downtown at seaside where seafood meal was a must for people to eat. At noon, we had a small bite of seafood to relief our stomachs that had been empty for a long time.

After having a little rest after lunch, we prepared boating to sail and felt the sea wave. "Hello sea, here we come…", our companions who had been ready couldn’t wait to fall into the sea. In the 1.5m deep peripheral waters, some people were having water fight, some children wearing swimming rings were playing; some were playing with water and chasing waves, some were walking the sand and some were looking for seafood and taking photos…

Walking on the beach of fine and soft quartz sand with no impurities, which was clean and uniform like filtered by the nature, all we felt was softness and warmth without sinking our feet inside the sand, making us want to take off shoes and socks and walk on the soft beach with bare feet. Coming nearer to the sea, the pure and transparent sea water flooded to the beach and your feet, seeming like it was wiping your exhaustion.

Colleagues loving swimming went to dig various sea food and after a short time, they harvested a heap of them, many of which they did not know their names; however, we had something to eat as midnight snack.

They also had fun in swimming in the sea while looking for sea food. Look, their postures diving to the sea were so "beautiful".

Time was fleeting. As the sun came down, we had to take the gifts of sea and returned, although we were attached with the sea after only short time being together with it and still wanted to play. We started to look for other fun when coming back to the shoreside as we were reluctant to part...

The beautiful scenery at seaside would not be complete if there were no children. Their lovely faces were too cute…

At 19:00 p.m. in the evening, we returned to our own rooms and washed ourselves and rested for a short moment, in order to have dinner later. The real seafood meal was really delicious and fresh, we couldn’t stop eating. We’d like to give a thumb-up to it…

After dinner, we had the free time. We went for a drive, ate iced watermelon, drank tea and talked…

At late night, it was the happy time to have midnight snack… The food found by ourselves was peeled by special person for us to eat until we were full.

In the next day, we got up early to taste dim sum. Cantonese called morning tea "tancha", which means enjoyment. On the morning after getting up, our mouths were astringent but a cup of tea cleaned the cavity, refreshed ourselves and aroused appetite. After drinking tea, we tasted various desserts, which was really a kind of enjoyment. Barbecued pork buns, chicken feet, shaomai and crystal shrimp dumplings…Only their names could make us drool.

The next stop: Nanhai Temple, this was also the last link of this activity. Covering an area of 300,000 m2, Nanhai Temple connects with Jiayu and has beautiful scenery consisting of stacked reef rocks and crossing bays. It is said that it is the place where Avalokitesvara became one of the four Buddha.

The beautiful time was always short. We returned to Shenzhen after this unforgettable trip to Red Bay ended in a satisfactory way. We were impressed by the beautiful scenery and touched by the cohesion of the team. Deeply affected by the warmth and teamwork of this big family, we were looking forward to our next trip.
